IlluminOss Medical Inc. Announces the Appointment of John A. Pafford to Board of Directors

Middletown, RI – October 01, 2007 -- IlluminOss Medical Inc., an early stage medical device company dedicated to the development of minimally invasive orthopedic systems, today announced the election of Mr. John A. Pafford to the company’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Pafford, with over thirty years of orthopedic experience, is a Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer for Spine Wave Inc. focused on the development and commercialization of innovative spinal surgical solutions. Mr. Pafford has previously served in various executive positions at Medtronic Spine (formerly Sofamor Danek), including Executive Vice President of Worldwide Research and Development, and, most recently, as President for the Thoracolumbar Group and Technology Development. Prior to joining Medtronic Spine, Mr. Pafford served in a variety of technology roles at Wright Medical (formerly Dow Corning Wright).
